Sunny day in January!

The other day was so beautiful that I decided to let all the kids out to play. We were well overdue! These ladies sure loved rooting around in the dirt of my very neglected flower beds.

I think we have the nicest chickens ever.....Bella doesn't even try to get away from miss Maddy anymore. She just stands there and lets her pick her up and do almost anything....It's really funny!

This girl thinks she's a rooster...LOL She thought she was pretty cool perching up on Daddy's rock pile! I'm just glad she didn't poop on them...LOL

As soon as we let the chickens out, miss Alice disappeared and I was really starting to get worried. After Maddy and I spent about 15 min. searching the yard I heard some very low clucking going on behind our garbage can area. I finally found her up under the porch and behind our recycle cans. The mystery of why our chickens stopped laying eggs for a few days was discovered. Alice was busy tucking all the eggs up under her and playing mother hen. I wasn't sure what was going on with this, so I gently pulled her off the gravel nest to see if it was just her or if the other ladies were responsible too. Here we have it.....all 3 chickens decided that laying in gravel was better. I decided to just let her do her thing back there and left the eggs to see if she would go back and lay another.

About 15 min. later Alice popped out and started to eat, so of course I had to go check out the gravel nest.

Check out that beautiful new green egg at the top of there nest.

I pulled that one out so it didn't get stained by there dirty feet. What a nice egg!

This little guy thought he was going to be in charge while outside....LOL Yeah right, Bella and Alice might let him get away with it but Pretty girl ( the one on the left ) was not having his bully butt. She kept him away from the other girls for the most part too. I wish I had the camera out when she chased him half way across the yard....She put him in his place!!!

After missing the too funny little black dog and chicken chase, I decided to keep the camera out. Of course nothing excited happened, so I decided to play around with the camera and some of the pics I'd taken. Just love this feature.....it does Sepia all on its own. I thought they looked pretty cute. Especially since Maddy was in her awful outside clothes that don't match at all. All in all it was a nice day to be outside and we all had fun!

Maddy's Post

The other morning Maddy asked why I haven't taken any pictures of her lately. I didn't know what to say, she was right. I have been really bad about taking pics and finding interesting things to blog and share. So I told her she could do what she wanted in her room and I would take some pics and share them for her. She didn't want to get dressed or do her hair....said she looked just fine mom! So grown up!!!

Bare with me here.....she told me that people wanted to see her animals playing. Her horses play nice with her dinosaurs.

She really wanted me to take a pic of this one....said she was too pretty not to!

I finally convinced her to smile for her pics.
He is dead momma......OMGosh....what happened??? He just died, didn't want to play anymore.....OKAY
This one was all me....Looked to funny!
She really enjoyed having mom in her room playing and taking pics....we have had a play date every day since in her room...just no pics of the animals....LOL

Good Grils!!!

We have been waiting for this day for some time now! Around 3:45 the other morning our girls were going crazy out in their hen house. I thought they were begging for food once again....they are pigs not chickens..LOL Anyhow, when the hubby got home from work and went out to feed the girls, he found these beauties. I thought he was pulling my leg again, but oh no our girls finally came through!

What we can't figure out is what chicken layed white eggs??? We did some homework on our girls and made sure they are the breed they are suppose to be. NONE of our girls are suppose to lay white eggs!!! LOL I guess we should just be happy that they finally plopped some eggs out..LOL I know why they were squawking....did you check out that big one on the left!!!

Creative Girl

Creative little one she is.........She was trying to make 2 pieces of paper stick together with stickers....she had a hard time at first but ended up making it work all on her own.

Grandma Sue got her this book for her Birthday and just 2 nights ago realized it had stickers inside.....I don't know how that got overlooked!!!

As you can see there are several stickers missing already.

I told her she had to figure out how to get them off the paper all by her self....by the end of this project, the paper holding the stickers took a beating.

Her purpose for making 2 pieces of paper stick together was to make a bird.

Her first time around she had only had the stickers on one side of the pages. She quickly realized that it wasn't strong enough to hold, so she thought all on her own to put stickers on both sides to make it stronger. How clever! So here is one of the finished bird papers as she calls them...LOL
I have to say for a 4 year old, that was pretty good problem solving and very creative.

Cle Elum Winter Wonderland!

Our Christmas in Cle Elum was like a winter wonderland.....It was so beautiful! The highs were 13 degrees and the lows were somewhere between 5 and 6 below.....to cold to go out for long periods of time. I captured this beautiful sunrise the first morning we were there. I think it was somewhere around 5 degrees out....brrrrr!

The next day I drug this poor little girl out for some cute snow pics....I think we stayed out for a long 2 to 5 min.

So pretty to look at but not fun to be in!

We did have some inside fun! Check out Maddy's dinosaur face.....roooaaarrrr!!! Mark is thinking this girl is crazy!!! All in all we had a wonderful weekend in the winter wonderland!
