Getting started!

I am so excited, my wonderful sister in law came over today and helped me pick out the paint color for Maddy's room. She also used that wonderful and creative brain of hers to come up with other very clever ideas. You will have to wait till later to see those. I have the paint, but have no motivation due to this ridiculous headache of mine. All I am willing to do at this time is show you the before pictures, and maybe later if I can get this dang headache to go away I will start the painting process, and hopefully my hubby will help with that, one can hope! Tasha, my sister in law is also doing a before and after of this process on her own blog, I am really excited to see her postings. Don't judge the before pictures, I did not clean a thing, and left it as Maddy did before she left for grandmas house.

On a mission

My plan for the day is beginning! I am off to get paint samples and then to the grocery store. I'm not sure how much I will get done before Grandma Soup calls to tell me she off to North Bend. Oh yes, the Maddy Paddy is off to Grandma's for a few nights. I would normally be sitting here getting more upset by the minute thinking of how long she will be gone, but this time I am giving myself projects to keep busy. I am very excited to get my new project underway, Maddy will be so excited to come home to a redone room. This is my goal anyway to get as much done as possible, good luck to me!

Still no motivation, I need help!!! I am taking pictures after Maddy wakes up from her nap, hoping that it will get my mood flowing. Maddy with be spending the week with grandma Soup, so I will have a chance to get in there and at least start painting. I keep looking at her dresser and saying ok today is the day, and of course as you can see....nothing. I did get some good things at Pier 1 today. I went for my mother in law and walked out with a bag of goodies for me. I have been looking for some decorative balls to go in my over priced but a must have bowl that sits on my coffee table, and I found some really cool ones for a really good price, I'm feeling very good about that purchase. I also got some green place mattes to go on my long dresser in my bedroom. I had pillow cases to protect the top of my dresser before, but let me tell you, know matter what I did they just kept screaming pillow cases...LOL A while ago Tasha, my sister in law had given me these really cool wall vase things and I ended up breaking the glass on one of them. I tried putting several different glass items in them, but nothing seem to work, and of course you can't find a replacement piece. Today, however I found a couple of glass candle holders that fit nicely, but I am still deciding if I like them or not.

Getting the Itch....

I am totally getting the itch to redo Maddy's room. Every time I walk in there, it looks like someone threw up pink and purple and landed everywhere. I thought I was going to start sanding down her hand me down dresser, but that did not happen. I need the help of my talented sister in law, and some motivation. I don't think it helps that I have caught Maddy's cold, she is doing better but good old mom is feeling pretty crappy. I think I will take some before pictures and post them, this way it will make me get in the mood....LOL

Living on the edge!

So I don't know if anybody elss notices in movies when they show people driving on a highway or there driving off into the sunset or what ever, they always drive down the center of the two lane road. Well today I did it, I felt totally wild and crazy, even though I only did it for about 3 seconds. I know my husband is going to laugh at me, because every time they do this in the movies I have to say " I wanna do it".

Yum, is all I have to say about Garfield's favorite dish, Lasagna. Maddy was watching Garfield the other day and kept asking for some. I think she wanted to be like him, so I made lasagna yesterday. I know it looks like heart attack in a dish, and it pretty much was, but dang it was good. I was feeling all Betty Crocker yesterday so I made an apple crisp too, the husband was very happy about all the baking. He is not going to be so lucky tonight, not with only having about 3 1/2 hours of sleep. I can't even gather enough energy to think about what to make tonight. Help!!! Anyways take a look at my heart attack in a dish!

So I think I have made it clear that I love my re homed pitcher and glass set, but my mother in law pointed out that you can't really see it in my photo. I had to go back and look and sure enough you can't see it very clear...So Sue this is for you, and anyone who cares to see what it really looks like. Oh, I almost forgot, don't worry Sue I wont get rid of it, at least not without telling you first! LOL
