Chicken Coop!

It's all for you miss Maddy.....Daddy would not have worked for 5 days on this project if it wasn't for you!

Daddy working very hard on the coop portion.

It took most of Sunday to build just the coop.

Maddy had to bring Pretty girl over and show her the new house.

Before the roof went on, Maddy had to try it out and make sure that the girls are going to like it. She said it looks good daddy!

This is where all the fun starts! A roll of 6 ft 2 inch chicken wire.

Daddy's favorite thing.....These bad boy screws really helped.

After using over a thousand staples, Daddy says " why am I so cheep??? I should have just spent the extra $ 40.00 and bought the power stapler". You will see soon why he wished this and why it took over a thousand staples.....but first take a look at the next pic, and try not to laugh!

Yes, those are my knee pads, and yes I use them.....The hubby got them for me for when I clean houses. They really save me, plus I have bad knees....( thanks Dad for that ).

While taking a break I caught sight of these crazy looking calves. Not normal, I know!

Doing some final trimming.....I would have showed you the stages up to the next pics, but I was to busy helping!

Almost there, but you can kinda see whats going on.
Check it out! Only the best for our 3 little girls! Dad even made a door so Maddy can go in and play with her girls.

The finished project, and the girls are loving it.

I know you can't see the whole in my thumb, but it is there and it really hurt when it happened. I can't believe how much it bled for how small it is.
Of course the hubby got it a little worse than I did! We can really say that we have a little sweat and blood in this project! LOL

Bella loving her new pen.

Alice the stinker enjoying being in the safety of her new pen.

then there is Pretty girl to the right who goes along with anything the other 2 girls do. She is the youngest and kinda the baby.

Summer fun!!!

So little miss Maddy is in the pool today and begging me to take her picture. I get the camera and this is what she wants to do.

I did not put the ones of her making her super hero mean faces.....but I did get her to be a smiling super hero for the moment.

Then she tells me that she wants to take some pretty pictures, and this is what she comes up with.

This has to be my favorite.

She is trying to tell me that she is going to be a brave tiger, and will lay down on her tummy.
She did it to......for about 2 seconds, but had to tell me how brave she was over and over....LOL All in all she had a really fun day playing in the pool and in the backyard today!

Chicks.....Part two!

I am sorry it has taken me this long to post the chicks part two.....I am assuming if your reading this post, that you have already read part one, how we lost Red Red. Well the next business day we took a trip back down to the Monroe Farm and Feed, and got two new chicks. Alice the one and only original chick was pretty happy when we got them home. She attached herself to them immediately. She kinda acts as the mother hen to the two new and a little younger chicks. It was so bright the day we got them and took them out to play in the yard that my little princess had to put on mamma's shades....could she be any cuter!

Maddy got to pick out her own chicks this time, so we came home with a Plymouth Rock and a Barnevelder.

This cutie is Pretty girl.....yes Maddy named them too. Pretty girl is the Barnevelder.

This young lady is Bella.....and yes that would be Bella from the movie New Moon! Bella is her favorite chick. She is very mild mannered and lets Maddy do almost anything with her.

Alice decided to perch on the foot for a while.

Maddy learning to hold her babies from underneath.
Notice who she has again, I almost feel sorry for this poor girl. She always chases her down and wont let her go.

The three ladies that will give momma some good eating eggs! Yum
